The All-Star
I arrived late to the game. I didn’t really want to be here, but my mom
forced me to come.
“Big T is swift and smooth with the ball. The ball goes left and right, to
the rhythm of his arms. He goes around and thru his opponents as if it was the
easiest thing in the world.” The commentator kept repeating it over and over
again.
The girls had never seen him before but they like the way he plays. He might
be all good and look like he is the best but I personally don’t like him. He’s
too cocky and tries to impress everyone and he easily sucks people into his
black hole. Good thing I didn’t fall in it.
“He goes through the point guard, the center, he jumps,” the crowd stays
silent. “He goes for the reverse lay-up and misses,” the commentator says.
I knew he was going to ruin it for his team, now they are not eligible for
the play-offs. I walked up to him and tell him, “mom is waiting for us in the
car, so hurry up and
big brother.
Miss Pretty Lady
Leslie exits the shower and did not bother to dry herself, but went straight
to the mirror. After fifteen minutes of admiring her body she decides to dry
herself, although she is almost fully dry. She puts on the clothes that she laid
out the night before, a light bright blue tank top with rhinestones and dark
blue shinny jeans with rhinestones in the back pockets, according to the weather
that she looked up on the internet.
When all her clothes are on, she goes back to the mirror and stares at
herself for twenty minutes. By the time she stopped looking at herself it was
time for go to school. When she arrived to school, she stopped at every mirror
or something with a reflection to look at herself. Finally, she looked at the
mirror by her classroom and saw the reflection of Isaac. He was the main reason
she kept looking at herself in the mirror, just to impress him. He saw her face
through the reflection and turned away, and said under his breath, “Wow, this
girl is conceited, major turn off.”
Innocent Jake
Jake walked through the solid white hallway. He had head down and kept
nodding it side to side in disappointment. His pale ashy hand tapped his right
thy, like an inevitable tick. He knew he didn’t deserve to be there, because of
someone else’s incompetence. The two men in brown suits walked on his right and
left side; they just walked in a straight pattern with their heads held up not
looking back.
The guards stopped Jake in front of a gray door with a small window. His
glistening light brown eyes started to wander off, without moving his puny head.
The guard on Jake’s left reached into his pocket and pulled out a bunch of keys
held on one key chain. “Unlock door 27,” the guard shouted out loud. There was a
buzz in the hall way and the guard on the right opened the door with ease. Then
the one of the guards quickly closed the door. The left guard pushed Jake
against the wall and took his jumpsuit off by force.
The Unstoppable
He was the best at having a lot of girls. Everybody knew his reputation,
even the girls he had, but they did not care. They just cared about his looks
and all the money he had to his name.
Nothing could stop him, but then she came. His game was still good and
looked flawless. As time passed his game changed. He became what the didn’t ever
want to be, being controlled instead of being in control. He didn’t care that
much anyways because being with her was enough for him, and now she calls him
baby stoppable.
The Shopper
She walked in the store like she owned the building. She looked at every
single piece of clothing in the store. She stayed in the store for about five
hours looking and looking as if she were looking for a lost child between the
hangers. But no luck. She was disappointed and left the store. Everybody at the
register looked at her as she left the store.
She went outside the store and stood, just glancing around. She found a
plastic cup. She sat down against the blue wall of the store and as people
passed by she would shake her cup side to side.
Questions
“Why is the sky blue? Why can we feel air and not see it? Why does it
rain?” These were the everyday questions she would ask. Everybody laughed at
her, mocked her. She wasn’t dumb, she was just curious.
Even though she was not the smartest girl, she was very attractive and she
never seemed to e to interested in guys. Then one day somebody asked her how if
she had a boyfriend, she looked at him laughed and mocked his words.
The Slap
They were living together for two years. This was their first fight. He
raised his voice at her, “I’m getting tired of this marriage thing. You get mad
at every little thing I do ever since you thought I was cheating on you. Maybe I
was and I should have stayed with her instead of a wife that nags all day!”
There was an awkward silence in the room for a few seconds. All you could
see was her head down, as if she were scared. Her head went up and so did her
hand. He was stunned as she slapped him across his freshly tanned and made him
bleed. Here eyes were filled with anger. He put his hand against his rose read
face, and felt the drops of blood going down his hands. He looked up at her for
a good minute in surprise. He chuckled and told her “I love you.”
The Initials
As I laid in bed, I stared at the ceiling. I saw that there was her
initials were engraved in red in the pearl white ceiling. It was in a perfect
cursive script. The script was only about 3 inches in width and height.
My time was running out; the doctor said I only had about and hour or two of
life left. I kept breathing harder and harder, struggling by the second. At
least now, in my last moment of my fast and ignorant life, I realized how
beautiful my wife’s hand writing truly was.
Julie
Her name was Julie. She had sky blue eyes that I always get lost in. I saw
her everyday in first and second period. She sat at my table facing me everyday.
She never seemed to look at me or pay any attention to me.
Today her eyes finally turned my direction. I started to get sweaty, but
didn’t understand why. She walked up to me slowly; I didn’t know what to do. My
heart was pounding hard and fast. My palms grew sweaty in an instant. So I
turned swiftly in the opposite direction and walked away; was relieved.
Lids
This was the day! I’ve been waiting for it for about a month now. I finally
have enough money to buy it. I knew Hilltop Mall had one more left. So as soon
as I got the money I left to the mall without a second thought in my mind. I
walked in on the eastside of the mall, looking and looking for Lids. Then I
realized I was on the other side.
I felt a little stupid, but it was mainly because my over excitement blinded
my navigation skills. I proceeded to the west wing of the mall, and there was
the store, Lids, in a bold white letters with a blue and black trim. I walked in
and the little buzzard beeped. And there it was, the limited addition authentic
St. Louis Cardinals hat, all red with the blue SL, and a gold trimming around
it. I knew it was the last one in stock and it wasn’t going to be made anymore
in my lifetime. I knew waiting for a month to save was going to be worth it, and
no one at my high school has this hat. I knew if someone would take this hat I
would go crazy in anger. I couldn’t even talk, I was speechless; the clerked
looked at me as if I was stupid. I had to savor the moments of looking at this
beautiful hat a few more seconds.
I heard the buzzard of the store again, and my friend Tony came in and said,
“Was sup?” and all I did was nod my head. Then he said, “Excuse me,” and I
scooted a little over. He reached for the last hat on the shelf and took it to
the cashier. “T
hanks, see you at school.”
