“I called you back in here today to tell you that you are pregnant,” said Kaia’s OB-Gyn.

“What?” said Kaia.

“You are pregnant,” the doctor said again.

Oh my god, how could this have happened? I’ve been using protection every time, what went wrong? How am I going to tell Alonzo?

Kaia was from Detroit and was now living in Atlanta, she had been living there now for two years, she got a letter saying she was going to attend Clark Atlanta University on her 18^th birthday and has been attending since the fall of 2006. She is getting a degree in psychology and she is maintaining an A average. She is about 5’7, 160 pounds, with shoulder length black hair with brown highlights, and glowing dark brown skin. She has a mean walk and when she steps into any spot she has everybody turning their heads. So naturally every guy wanted to get with her. Many guys didn’t approach her though because of the harsh ways she denied guys.

“Ay lil mama, what’s your name?” she heard some guy call to her.

“My name is none of your business,” I say to the guy.

“Anyway that is not how you approach a woman.”

“Like that, I just want some of your time,” the guy said back to her.

“Well you just got some of my time right now, I have to get to my next class though bye,” I say very quickly.

Man these boys be going crazy over me. Sometimes I wish I was ugly.

“Kaia,” her best friend and cousin said.

“What’s up Natalie, where you been?” I say.

Natalie is Kaia’s mothers little sisters daughter. Natalie has one year over Kaia and for the past two years they have been inseparable.

“Girl no where trying to get rid of this dumb fool he starting to get on my nerves he keep calling me,” as soon as she said that he was calling her.

Natalie and Paul had been together for 11 months. During the summer was the toughest part of their relationship, Paul’s mom died and Natalie’s house burnt down. Everyday was a new argument about little things like why she hadn’t called him or

“I got to get to class I’ll call you later to see what’s going on tonight, I want to get my party on,”

“Ok,” she said and walked off while continuing to argue with her boyfriend.

Kaia arrived at her class and noticed that a guy was in her seat. She didn’t mind though because she thought he was fine. Pretty chocolate brown complexion, beautiful big brown eyes and succulent lips that were to die for.

“Excuse me, but you’re in my seat,” she said to the beautiful brown brother.

“Oh well let me find a new seat,” he said.

“No its ok you can stay here I’ll just go to a new seat,”
“No its fine I’ll just move,” he said

As he got up and walked away he said “by the way my name is Kris.”

Wow he has some real manners he could teach Alonzo.

Kaia and Alonzo had been together since her senior year in high school. They had a good relationship. They were like best friends and did a lot of things together, so when Kaia got a letter of acceptance to go to Atlanta Alonzo went right along with her. A couple months after she moved to Atlanta Alonzo moved in with his uncle until he could get on his feet. Within his first year living there he enrolled in college and got a job and an apartment, which Kaia moved into with him. He now was out of college and was an engineer for a very big company. So when Alonzo started acting funny Kaia got suspicious.

“What’s wrong with you,” said Kaia

“Nothing, why you ask?” said Alonzo

“Because it seems like you acting differently and I don’t like it,” Kaia replied.

“What are you talking about,” he said back.

“You were twenty minutes late picking me up from school,”

“I was just busy doing something don’t worry about it,”
“Are you cheating on me?” Kaia said

“No, but I got to go real quick ill be back by nine,”
“Yeah right,”

“I promise,” he said as he kissed her on the cheek and walked out the door.

As he got in the car he thought to himself man I need to hurry up and propose she is getting very suspicious. While inside the house Kaia was ranting and raving about how he was cheating on her and how she was going to get him back some how. In the mist of all her ranting the phone rang.

“Hello,” Said Kaia
“is Alonzo there,” said the unfamiliar female voice

“No, who is this?” replied Kaia

“Who is this?” the woman replied

“This is Alonzo future wife who is this,”

The woman hung up when she heard Kaia say that just as soon as she did that Kaia called Natalie.

“Hello,” Natalie said in an annoyed tone of voice.

“He cheating on me I knew it,” Kaia said tears streaming down her face with a sad and angry tone.

“How do you know what happened,”

“The bitch had the nerve to call my house,”

“Are you serious we need to call his ass up right now who he think he is having some girl calling,” said Natalie.

“No I know what I’m gone do I’m gone wait till he get home then I’m gone cuss him out then go party all night,” Kaia said.

“Now that sounds like a plan you need somebody to go clubbing with,”

“Yeah girl get dress and meet me here in about an hour,”

“Ok ill call you when I’m outside,”

“Ok bye,”

Just as Kaia puts the phone down Alonzo walks through the door. He stops when he sees the look on Kaia’s face.

“So that’s how you feel you got other women calling the house,” Kaia pauses for a second to let him explain himself.

“Kaia what are you talking about I don’t have no other girl but you baby,” he said.

“don’t baby me your full of shit I’m going out to night don’t bother asking me where I’m going either," Kaia said that and went to the bathroom to take a shower.

After Kaia got out the shower she put on her sexiest outfit, she wore a short tight black and gold dress which she wore with some cute gold peep toe heels. The finishing touches were diamond studs, lip gloss that brought out her lips and golden brown eye shadow. By the time she stepped out of the room Natalie was outside beeping the horn. Alonzo stood up to look who was outside honking and didn’t realize Kaia had come out of the room. When he turned around to ask if she was going out with Natalie he looked her up and down and soon began to grin. Soon his smile disappeared and he realized that she would be flaunting that look in front of many guys in the club and became infuriated.

“Where the hell are you going looking like that?” he said

“To the club don’t wait up either,” Kaia said as she walked out the door.

As soon as she hopped in the car and they drove off Alonzo called up the woman who called the house earlier.

“Hello,” said the woman.

“hi Melissa this is Alonzo, I really wish you hadn’t called earlier because now my girlfriend thinks that I have a girl on the side,”
“did you at least try and explain to her that I’m the woman who is helping make your wedding proposal happen?” said Melissa.

“I know I tried but she didn’t listen she just left and went to the club and I’m scared that she is going to do something crazy tonight, I don’t know what I should do,”

“Maybe you should try going to the club that she’s at and try to explain what’s going on,” woman replied

“I would do that if I knew where she was,” Alonzo replied.

Melissa was silent on the other end for a while then she said “well I don’t know what to tell you, do you think that you will still be using my services?”

“Yeah,” he replied and hung up in her face.

On the other side of town Kaia was dancing to the latest hits in a nightclub called Moonlight. Moonlight was lit by a disco ball. While Kaia was getting her groove on the guy who had stolen her seat in class was watching her from across the room. He slowly made his way across the room and began grinding up against Kaia. In a smooth quick motion Kaia turned around trying to figure out who was behind her. When she saw who it was she gave a sly little grin and continued to dance with Kris. After a while Kaia got thirsty and said she would be back she was going to get a drink.

“Its ok ill get it for you, what are you drinking tonight?”
“I’m drinking a sex on the beach,” Kaia said

“Ok cutie I’ll be back in a minute,” he said.

He slowly made his way over to the bar while Kaia began to dance again.

“Bartender can I have a sex on the beach and a white Russian,” Kris yelled on the loud music.

“Sure coming right up,” said the bartender.

“Here you go,” said the bartender.

“Thank you,” said Kris

Kris made sure that the bartender wasn’t paying attention and that nobody around him could see what would happen next. He reached down into his shirt pocket and pulled out a small little vile and slip some white powder into Kaia’s drink. Just as he was putting the vile back into his pocket Kaia came up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder.

“Dang what was taking you so long I was thirsty,” she said with a smile as she picked up the drink and guzzled it.

She put the cup down and pulled Kris back on to the dance floor before he could even take a sip from his drink. After dancing for a little while Kaia began to feel weird and told Kris that it felt like the room was spinning. The room continued to spin and after that she fell limp in Kris’s arms. When that happened a smile spread across Kris’s face as he began to walk towards the door. Natalie was sitting in the VIP while all of this was going on and forgot who she was at the club with. Natalie soon grew tired and was ready to leave now all she had to do was find Kaia, but she was no where to be found. So Natalie went outside looking for her and was blowing her phone with text messages and call but she wasn’t responding. Natalie went back into the club to ask around and see if anyone had seen Kaia. She asked the bartender and he said that her had seen Natalie leaving with a guy that looked like her boyfriend. She then began to calm down and said to herself she’ll call me tomorrow and began to party again.

The next morning Kaia woke up naked in a rinky dinky motel room with a horrible headache. Kaia didn’t know what to think all she knew was that she needed to call Alonzo fast so that she could get away from this nasty motel.

“Alonzo I really need you to come pick me up I’m scared and I think I am at the motel right off the freeway,”Kaia cried into the phone.

“Don’t worry about it baby I’m on my way,” he said into the phone while throwing on something quick and fast. He could tell today was going to be a bad day.

When Alonzo arrived at the motel he was disgusted the place filthy. It looked as if it were once a pretty salmon pink color but now it was a dirty pink looking building, with some of the rooms windows busted out. When Kaia seen Alonzo’s car pull up she jumped into the car like it was no tomorrow.

Alonzo asked “what happened?”

She said “I don’t know I just feel like I need to go to the hospital.”

Just as soon as those words came out her mouth she was at the hospital and Alonzo was opening up her side of the door and helping her out. They made their way into the hospital and she was escorted onto a gurney and pulled away by doctors. Alonzo sat in the waiting area worried, by this time he had called Natalie and told her where they were at. Natalie ran into the waiting area with tears in her eyes screaming about how she wished that she never would have continued partying and went out looking for Kaia.

“It’s not anybody’s fault what happened last night,” he said to Natalie.

Just then the doctors came out to explain what was going on.

“Through deep examination we have came to the conclusion that Kaia was drugged and raped last night,”

“What?” said Natalie and Alonzo in unison. By now Natalie’s was crying horribly and Alonzo now developed tears in his eye.

Alonzo was the first to speak “is she ok? What will happen to her? Can I go in and see her?”

“Yes both of you can go inside,”said the doctor.

They went in and saw Kaia sleep on the bed so both went over and gave her a kiss then Natalie left while Alonzo stayed the night. Kaia awoke the next morning with puffy eyes as she looked around the room and saw that Alonzo was there she was excited and yelled out to him. He awoke when he heard her voice and sprang up.

“Are you ok baby?” he said.

“Yeah and I’ll be even better when I’m able to leave,” she said

“Ok baby I’ll see if they let you leave today, I’ll go get the doctor now,”

He left out and went to go get the doctor who said she couldn’t leave until the investigators arrived. He went back in to the room and told Kaia what needed to happen and asked if she wanted some breakfast. She said yes so he went out to get them something to eat and they sat and ate together while they waited for the investigators to show up.

“Hi my name is detective smith and this is my partner detective James we would like to ask you a few question, do you mind?”

“No not at all,” Kaia said.

“Now do you remember anything from last night,” said detective James.
“No all I remember is going out with my cousin,” she said.

“well I guess that’s all we have for right now we have semen sample and we will need to talk to your cousin ma’am, how may we get in touch wit her?” said detective smith.

“Her name is Natalie Mitchell,”
“ok we’ll keep in touch,” said the detectives and left.

Alonzo helped Kaia get into a wheelchair so that she could leave the hospital. He pulled the car around and helped he get in them they pulled off.

A week later the detectives called and told Kaia that they found her rapist and that he had many rape and abuse priors under his name that’s why it was so easy to find him. She was in total shock.

The next day after hearing the news Kaia went in to go see her OB-GYN.

“I called you back in here today to tell you that you are pregnant,” said Kaia’s OB-GYN.

“What?” said Kaia.

“You’re pregnant,” the doctor said again.

Oh my god how could this have happened I’ve been using protection every time what went wrong. How am I going to tell Alonzo.

“Um doctor can you tell me how far along I am?”

“Yes you are six weeks,” said the doctor.

“Good, thank you doctor I have to call my boyfriend this is exciting news,” said Kaia.

Kaia called Alonzo and told him the exciting news and he said when she gets home they are going out to dinner to celebrate. Kaia arrived home and got ready to go out. They went to the fanciest place and everything was beautiful. There were flowers and a band was playing. They sat down and ordered steaks and when their food came Alonzo began to talk about how he loved Kaia and wanted to take their relationship to the next step. The band came closer to their table and Alonzo got down on one knee and said to Kaia “will you marry me?”

She was so excited and tears were streaming down her eyes and she said yes. They ate dinner and went home and began to plan their wedding and the move into a bigger house to make room for them and the baby.
